An Ingredient In Packaged Food Sent Me To A Hospital In Agony

Have you ever had a bad experience after eating packaged food?

I was hospitalised for five and a half days and suffered from an unknown cause of agonising pain. A nurse connected a tube through my nose which led to the stomach, and the contents emptied directly into a plastic bag.

I was drip fed by saline to keep my body alive, and the morphine drip was for the excruciating pain.

When the Doctor arrived to examine me, he pressed my stomach area, and I experienced further pain. Checking the plastic bag, he could see the contents and noticed that it did not appear normal.

He scheduled a series of tests to determine what was the cause of my condition, and every test came back without any abnormality. By the sixth day, I felt a whole lot better.

While in the hospital I recollected eating a new packaged food product which I introduced into my diet. I did not check the ingredients listing and accepted this tasty biscuit as being okay.

I went back to the supermarket and found a packet of these biscuits and checked the label only to see the first ingredient on the list was the one I have an allergic reaction.

I had consumed a small packet of dry biscuits which I introduced into my diet. My body responded with pain and grief.

The name of this ingredient is known as MSG – Monosodium glutamate. (E621).

This episode happened in the year 2000. Since then I have changed my diet and do not get sick anymore and I do not concern myself with packaged foods or other foods containing chemicals that may be harmful to the human body.

    Hello Funtime Foxy,

I am truly grateful that I am still alive to date and now fully recovered. People in the past unknowingly have eaten foods containing this ingredient and died as a result of eating it. I no longer buy foods with this ingredient in it.

My apologies for the delay in response to your comment.
