Health as a First Priority!

I’d like to tell you a bit about my health journey.

Fifty years ago, and I am now in my seventies, I was thinking about the time when I spent visiting my Doctor on some health issue or another and getting older and being unwell nearly all the time. How come? I was supposedly on a “good diet”, or so I thought.

Over the years I realised that I had to make some necessary changes to my diet. I had to ask myself, “Do I see my health as a first priority?“.

Money Invested

health as a first priorityI invested a lot of my own money and time to attend seminars, lectures, purchased health books, CDs, DVDs and still today I’m on the Internet listening to the podcasts and other media on health.

Expanding Knowledge

I expanded my knowledge about health issues and remedies; I also found that there is more information that the medical sickness industry does not want you to know.

What about Doctors?

But sometimes drugs are necessary and the only remedy that can save your life. If I break my leg – I’m going to the doctor! Doctors are very good at putting people together after an accident, but when it comes to preventable diseases, the statistics are not useful.

Ninety-five per cent of disease is preventable and reversible, even cancer!

Food as Medicine

Using food as medicine was practised in ancient times, some 2400 years ago Hippocrates stated: “Let thy food be thy medicine, let thy medicine be thy food.” God gave us a self- healing body, but only when the right building blocks are present.

Our body requires on a daily basis all the ninety different nutrients: Sixty minerals. Sixteen Vitamins, Twelve amino acids and three essential fatty acids.

Over the centuries people around the globe discovered that certain herbs, spices, roots, leaves and even bark have a medicinal effect on the body. Home remedies are less likely to cause serious side effects, unlike all the drugs available and prescribed today, they are liver toxic, but unfortunately, sometimes they are necessary.

So that is why today, I am healthier than I was twenty years ago.

Ask yourself, “Do I see my health as a first priority?“. You’ll be forever happy that you did.
