Nature's Trinity

A Reason to Live

Reason to liveWhen we think of a “reason to live” are inclined to imagine something important, something great of impact and consequence, like great wealth, fame, the ultimate in social position, etc. Through the ambition to attain such a goal, and when attained, – the reason is to live with it and for it!

This is all very well for those who have the good fortune and the right circumstances to “make it”!

What about those who are not so lucky and have no such ambitions? Who must find their “reason to live” in moderate circumstances and everyday “occurrences”? Is there a “reason to live” of a good nature for them?

For everyone and some, the only purpose is – to raise a family, not to mention building a “nest” for it – which often occupies a lifetime of something “to live for” in “paying it off”!

A Reason to Live for the everyday

But what about “a reason to live” for every day, other than, or even including, the day we spend earning what makes
living possible?

It is itself a good thing, because being occupied, preferably in an occupation one likes, is a good thing as “a reason to live”, because such an occupation or profession can be – and should be – more than a means to earn money, but his or her contribution to the whole of society (which every such position brings with it) and with it a feeling of responsibility and pride which also should be – “a reason to live”!

Why not invest in and spend some money on a project, which extends “one’s reason to live” into the day ahead and a prolonged future?

For instance: buy a camera, and make photography (I don’t mean snapshots) an ambition! Amazing what, with a little imagination and ingenuity one can do by collecting pictures of birds, scenery, etc.

Or one can join a club, depending on one’s natural inclination, like sport, collecting unusual items; one can make one’s ambition the “nicest garden in the street,” or only such, where one can meet others for friendship with outings and getting – together plans!

All these give a common reason and purpose and something “to live for,” other than the “dead end” of sleeping the time away and not knowing what to do with oneself, which is simply not a good “reason to live.”

Give yourself such an idea every day, and you will feel more alive and life itself more enjoyable.

Do it for your general health, which believe it or not is also affected! Live for today, each day – and tomorrow takes care of itself! This also is “a reason to live.”
