With this recipe, you can prepare a generous batch of approximately forty-five balls, ensuring you have enough for your snacking needs.
(One cup=250mls)
Ingredients:
One cup of dried pitted dates
One cup of dried pitted prunes
One cup of dried cranberries
One cup of almond meal
Three tablespoons of cacao
One tablespoon of 100% pure Canadian maple syrup
One teaspoon of vanilla extract
Three tablespoons = Coconut oil
One teaspoon of Dutch Cinnamon
Two tablespoons of Hemp Seed Powder
Method:
Add the dried fruits to a saucepan with the water and put it into the pot at the level of the fruit.
Boil until the dried fruit softens. Mix thoroughly to combine the fruit and remove any seeds.
Pour the heated content into another saucepan and use a colander to separate the juice from the fruit. Set both aside to cool.
Add the following into a mixing bowl:
One cup of almond meal
Three tablespoons of cacao
One tablespoon of 100% pure Canadian maple syrup
One teaspoon of vanilla extract
Three tablespoons = Coconut oil
One level teaspoon of Dutch Cinnamon
Two tablespoons of Hemp Seed Powder
Add the cooked, cooled fruit into the mixing bowl. Is it dry? Pour the fruit juice slowly until the desired level of moisture is accepted.
Is it too wet? I used three tablespoons of fine desiccated coconut and combined all the ingredients.
When making these hemp balls, use fresh water to keep hands moist and clean, a teaspoon for dipping out the size needed, and a wooden board to spread the hemp seed powder.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
