Why I Changed my Diet from Vegetarian to Vegan

change diet

In my search to find out why I was still experiencing ill-health, I came across a book called “Don’t Drink Your Milk” by Dr. Frank A. Oski and Dr. David Phillips which informed me about how milk affects the human body and why we should not drink it. I stopped drinking milk after reading this book but, did not give a thought to other products containing milk until now.

You might be interested in learning why Drs. Oski and Phillips wrote about the Dairy Industry and milk associated conditions, one of which interested me most was the condition about sneezing, mucus accumulation in the throat – I had this condition often and never thought it had anything to do with milk.

Every winter when the flu hit our suburbs and my neighbor had it, I could hear him trying to dislodge this mucus by coughing it out and it made me sick to hear it. I felt like yelling over the fence by saying “GET OFF THE DAIRY” and you may not have this problem.

Here are some other conditions associated with Milk;

Chronic fatigue -tiredness,
Tension headaches,
Musculoskeletal pain,
Hyperactivity,
Bedwetting,
Allergies and congestions,
Asthma and respiratory difficulties,
Early atherosclerosis,
Juvenile diabetes,
Multiple sclerosis
Neuralgic diseases,
Low IQ,
Glaucoma,
Prostate infection,
Ovarian cancer,
Breast cancer,
Recurrent abdominal pain,
Pale in appearance and large circles under the eyes.

Before changing my diet, I saw a Doctor and I was informed of having high blood pressure, Cholesterol and was deficient in Vitamin D.

The examination for high blood pressure and test results for the following conditions reversed back to normal on the changed diet.

* High blood pressure

* High cholesterol

* Vitamin D

* Lost weight (21Kgs)

* Skin itch – had this on and off since my 20’s.

* No more dizzy spells when standing longer than 10 minutes.

* Fluid retention

* No headaches

* No other aches and pains

I take vitamins and minerals for optimal health and use personal care products that are safe and not tested on animals. Vitamins are necessary for health and vitality but, without minerals, the vitamins won’t work. The minerals aid in the digestion of the vitamins.

We live in a world polluted with chemicals of all kinds. We consume processed foods that have very little nutritional value, we are left with no alternative and need to supplement our diets with the vitamins and minerals that are lacking in our food.

Albert Einstein said:

Vegetarian food leaves a deep impression on our nature. If the whole world adopts vegetarianism, it can change the destiny of humankind.

I don’t think the word Vegan existed in Albert Einstein’s time; it only was created to describe a diet of plant and fruit (raw) to differentiate between Vegetarian and Vegan diets. Vegetarian, on the other hand, would still involve the intake of dairy and eggs either one, or both and more cooked, plus what I consider junk food. Vegans abstain from eating dairy and eggs.

Your Choice:

Next time you sit at the dinner table, you can choose not to eat meat and instead choose Vegetarian or Vegan. Do it for the animals, the environment and do it for your health.

Best of health
